Additional Information
Ghorepani Poonhill Trek is a short and sweet trek at the bottom Himalayan range. The village lies within the Annapurna Conservation Area (ACA). Therefore we require a national park permit to visit (ACA). Early-time drinking water was not supplied in this place. Villagers used horses to collect the water in this place. The etymological meaning of Ghodepani means horse to water. That’s why this place was known as Ghodepani. The word Ghodepani converts to Ghorepani.
Furthermore, Ghorepani Poonhill Trek offers a remarkable mountain background along with charming villages. Inhabited particularly by the Gurungs, Poon & Magars. Similarly, a dense rhododendron forest full of birds and deep sub-tropical valleys attracts tourists. All set below the Annapurna’s with the charming peak of Machhapuchhare (Fishtail) dominating the horizon.
