Annapurna Circuit Trek – 8 Days Brief Insight

Why Choose the Short Annapurna Circuit Trek – 8 Days

The Short Annapurna Circuit Trek – 8 Days is one of the most popular short treks in Nepal’s Annapurna Conservation Area (ACAP), offering breathtaking views of snow-covered peaks, deep canyons, and high-altitude passes. This well-planned itinerary provides stunning panoramas of Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, and Annapurna I–IV, with Thorong La Pass (5,416m) as the highest point of the journey. For trekkers who want the full Himalayan experience without committing two full weeks, this route delivers all the drama of the classic circuit in a fraction of the time.

Trek Route and Villages

The Short Annapurna Circuit Trek – 8 Days passes through villages like Chame, Pisang, Manang, Jomsom, and Phedi, giving trekkers genuine insight into traditional Himalayan lifestyle and Gurung and Thakali culture. Each village along the route offers a different glimpse of mountain life, from terraced farmland in the lower valleys to stone teahouses in the high desert near Mustang. Due to the high altitude, the trek is considered strenuous but is achievable with proper fitness and acclimatization. For those wanting a more extended adventure, a 14-day Annapurna Circuit Trek is also available.

Journey from Kathmandu to Pokhara

The journey starts in Kathmandu, traveling through Besishahar, Chame, and Pisang Valley, and ends in Pokhara. Led by experienced guides, the Short Annapurna Circuit Trek – 8 Days promises an adventurous yet safe experience, with acclimatization days built into the schedule to reduce the risk of altitude sickness. Bookings for 2025 and 2026 are now open.

Best Time for the Short Annapurna Circuit Trek

The best seasons to attempt the Short Annapurna Circuit Trek – 8 Days are spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November). Spring brings blooming rhododendron forests along the lower trails, while autumn offers the clearest mountain views and the most stable weather of the year — both excellent windows depending on whether you prefer flowers or crystal-clear vistas of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri.

Permits Required

Trekkers need two permits to complete this route: the ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Permit) and the TIMS Card (Trekkers’ Information Management System). Our team handles all permit arrangements for you, so there’s nothing to worry about before you arrive in Kathmandu.

What’s Included

Your Short Annapurna Circuit Trek – 8 Days package includes airport pickup and drop-off, teahouse accommodation along the route, all necessary permits (ACAP & TIMS), an experienced licensed guide, porter service if requested, and full board (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) during the trek.

Who Is This Trek For?

The Short Annapurna Circuit Trek – 8 Days suits travelers who want the full Himalayan experience — dramatic mountain views, cultural immersion, and a real sense of adventure — without a two-week time commitment. It’s equally suited to first-time trekkers with reasonable fitness and experienced hikers looking for a shorter, more efficient route through one of Nepal’s most iconic trekking regions.
