Manaslu Circuit Trek Permit

Manaslu is a restricted area trek in Nepal, where tourists need 3 distinct types of permits. And these all permits can be collected from Kathmandu as well as from Pokhara. Hence, The cost of a permit depends on the month and the days that the tourist spends in this region.

The solo trek is not possible in this trek, it is because a minimum of 2 trekkers is required to take a permit. Similarly, For a permit, tourists should contact the trekking agency and the government-verified Trekking Guide. Usually, the cost of the permit for Manaslu Trek is USD 100 for the first 7 days. Likewise, ACAP and MCAP permits are also required for trekking in the Manaslu region.

Whereas, trekkers must carry travel insurance, passports, receipts of payments, visas, etc. For more information about the Manaslu Circuit Permit, go through the Nepal Trekking Permits fee.

Accommodation on Manaslu Circuit Trek

The lodging options during the Manaslu Circuit Trek are diverse and cater to various preferences and budgets. As you traverse the trail, you’ll encounter a mix of cozy lodges, inviting tea houses, and hospitable guesthouses that provide essential shelter, nourishment, and a much-needed respite after each day’s trekking efforts.

Throughout the initial stages of the trek, you can anticipate straightforward yet comfortable accommodations. As the elevation rises, the facilities might reflect the remote nature of the region, offering a more rustic experience. Bedrooms typically feature modest beds, warm blankets, and occasionally, stoves to counter the chilly temperatures. Shared bathroom facilities with basic amenities are common.

Most accommodations offer communal dining spaces where trekkers can relish hearty meals, encompassing both local delicacies and international fare. While menu choices may become more streamlined at higher altitudes, sustaining meals remains a priority to support your trekking endeavors.

Upon reaching more well-frequented points such as Samagaun and Bimthang, you’ll likely find enhancements in accommodation quality and amenities. Some lodgings might present the option of private quarters with attached bathrooms. Furthermore, these locales tend to expand their menus, potentially offering snacks and beverages to re-energize you.

While the accommodations en route may not mirror the opulence of urban hotels, they encompass an integral part of the authentic trekking experience. It’s advisable to secure your accommodations ahead of time, especially during bustling trekking seasons, to ensure availability and a comfortable stay as you embark on this remarkable journey.

Overview of Manasalu Trek

Manaslu trek is one of the toughest and most rewarding trekking trails under the shadow of Mt. Manaslu (8156m), the eighth-highest mountain in the world. Trekking in Manaslu will involve crossing several high Himalayan passes including Larkya La pass (5213m). Along the trek, you will have crystal clear views of Manaslu Himal, Baudha Himal, and Ganesh Himal ranges among others.

We will trek through the Manaslu Conservation Area, which has been established in the valley to preserve its precious biodiversity and promote sustainable tourism. The area’s alpine landscape and unique ecosystem support varied wildlife including snow leopard, grey wolf, musk deer, blue sheep, and the Himalayan Thar. The region is also a storehouse of precious herbs and medicinal plants that have been used by the Himalayan people for centuries.

The Manaslu Circuit trek is 180km in length, roughly 110 miles. Treks begin in the busy market town of Soti Khola, going up and back along a different path. This is a trek for someone who wants something different in Nepal but still offers the most striking and jaw-dropping scenery.

Many people associated the Manaslu Circuit trek with the Annapurna before it got busy. It is in a region that was closed to outsiders until the early ’90s and tourism is still restricted. It is not quite as high as the Annapurna circuit and really is a stunning and less trodden path. You will meet people along the way and also yaks. There is only one rule of the road when meeting an oncoming yak.

The path is well used and the ascent is not overly difficult. The top of Larkya La provides astounding panoramic views of Manaslu. As well as observing the view of Cheo Himal, Himal Chuli, and Himlung Himal. The terrain is never dangerous or precipitous, it is still just a walk but requires the usual care. There is no climbing or special equipment required on the Manaslu Circuit trek.
