Nepal Showcases Tourism Destinations in Beijing, Encourages Chinese Travelers to Visit

The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) promoted Nepal’s diverse tourism destinations at the 18th China Outbound Travel and Tourism Market (COTTM 2025), held in Beijing from April 24 to 26. The event aimed to attract more Chinese tourists to Nepal.

The three-day exhibition, hosted at the National Agricultural Exhibition Hall, saw participation from tourism representatives from around 50 countries. Nepal used the platform to highlight its majestic mountain ranges, rich cultural heritage, and thrilling adventure tourism offerings.

According to the NTB, Nepal’s presence at the event was strategically organized to position the country as a compelling destination for Chinese travelers.

Nepal’s Ambassador to China, Dr. Krishna Prasad Oli, along with First Secretary Manhari Dangal and Deputy Consul General in Chengdu, Chinaman Singh Budhathoki, visited Nepal’s stall. They engaged with Chinese tourism entrepreneurs to discuss tourism promotion and the potential for expanded bilateral cooperation.

Nepal’s stall featured displays showcasing traditional architecture, cultural landmarks, biodiversity, and scenic mountainous landscapes. Special emphasis was placed on promoting adventure tourism, nature excursions, and immersive cultural experiences.

The event also facilitated dialogue between Nepali and Chinese tourism professionals, opening doors to future partnerships and collaborative opportunities.

The NTB believes that Nepal’s participation will not only enhance its image in the Chinese market but also contribute to increasing tourist arrivals from China, fostering long-term partnerships, and creating new prospects for Nepal’s tourism industry.

COTTM is China’s premier B2B tourism exhibition and has served as a vital platform for global destinations to connect with Chinese tourism stakeholders since 2005.
