Boards with street numbers have been installed at various places from the main gate entering Gorkha from Ambukhaireni to Gorkha Durbar and from Harmatari Chowk to Kokhe Ahale.
Gorkha Municipality has started installing boards with ‘street numbers’ and QR codes targeting the Visit Year, which provide easy information to tourists and locals.
The boards have been installed on main roads and historical and religious sites, which make it easy to get information and access to those places.
So far, there are plans to install hoarding boards at about 56 places, of which the work has been completed in some places and work is underway in the remaining places.
30 Baisakh, Gorkha. Gorkha Municipality has started installing ‘street numbers’ targeting the Visit Year. Boards with street numbers have been installed at various places from the main gate entering Gorkha from Ambukhaireni to Gorkha Durbar and from Harmatari Chowk to Kokhe Ahale.
He informed that street numbering boards will be placed at various intersections including Abuwa, Syauli, Dash Kilo on the Gorkha-Aanbukhaireni road section. Similarly, he said that places like Pratikshalay Chowk, Ayurvedic Chowk, Rangshala, Harmatari Chowk, Shakti Chowk, Old Bus Park, BP Chowk, Thulo Aangan, Tindhare, Chhahare in the market area will also be numbered.
According to him, street number boards will be placed at places like Barah, Ahale, Dhungagade Chowk, Finam Chowk under the Harmatari Chowk to Kokhe Ahale section. The names of the places that can be reached from the place where the boards are placed will also be mentioned.
“We have placed boards with QR codes, after scanning the QR code, the details of the places that can be reached from there will come,” said Engineer Dhakal. He informed that street numbers with QR codes have been placed to make it easy for tourists coming to Gorkha to get information about various places in Gorkha.
Similarly, the work of placing informative hoarding boards with QR codes at places of historical and religious importance in the district has also begun. Engineer Dhakal said that out of the total 56 places identified by the municipality, hoarding boards have been placed at 18 places so far. He informed that the religious and historical importance of the place along with necessary details are mentioned on the board.

According to him, hoarding boards will be placed at Taplekot and Akla Temple in Ward No. 1, Bhutiya Chhango and Gaurishankar Temple in Ward No. 2, Bindhyavasini Temple in Ward No. 3, Bhimsen Park and Bhagawatisthan Temple in Ward No. 4, Children’s Park and Drabya Shah Chautara in Ward No. 5, Gorkha Durbar, Museum, Thulo Angan, and Ranipokhari premises in Ward No. 6.
Similarly, hoarding boards will be placed at Barah Temple in Ward No. 8, Mahadevtari in Ward No. 10, Ramshah Udyan in Ward No. 13, and Budhikote and Akla Temple in Ward No. 14. He informed that hoarding boards will also be placed at some places in Ward Nos. 7, 9, and 10. It is said that the boards have already been placed at some of those places while work is underway to place them at others.
