Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu
Firstly, After arrival at Nepal’s International Airport in Kathmandu, go to your hotel for the rest. If you book a hotel near Thamel then it will be better to hang out here and enjoy the nightlife here. There are many things to do in Thamel that can make your trip awesome.
Note: If you are willing to trek Poonhill Ghorepani solo then you have to stay the next day here in Kathmandu to take the Permit of Annapurna Region as well as a TIMS card. But if you have done a booking through the travel then they will arrange your TIMS card before your arrival to Nepal so you can trek by the next day of your arrival.
Day 2: Drive/Fly to Pokhara

Day 3: Drive to Birethanti and Trek to Ulleri
After the early breakfast, trekkers should take a ride from Pokhara to Birethanti by crossing Nayapul on the way. It is around a 1.5-2 hour ride from Pokhara. Normally, you can book the vehicle on the number of your group size. It will take around $70-$75 to book Minibus from Pokhara to Birethanti which has a capacity of 12 seats.
By exploring the amazing mountain ranges of Machhapuchre you will reach Birethanti. The vehicle will take you to the check post of Birethanti and drop you there.
You should cross this bridge(MODI river) and do the entry to trek Ghorepani Poonhill. All the TIMS and permits are checked here. Without it, one cannot trek to this region. After all the formalities are done from the check post you should follow upstairs which is just the left of the check post. For the first day of the hike, you will follow the roadway for certain hours, where you can see the river just below the roadway.
The trekking trail is somehow easy and a straight path can be seen throughout that day. The fresh environment and the lovely nature make your trip amazing. On the way, you can find a lot of resting places and hotels also, where you can have lunch. The locals are so friendly and cooperate with the tourist.
After having a gentle walk along the straight trails, you have to climb the hill full of stairs for around 2-3 hours to reach Ulleri.
After hiking for around 1.5 hr you can see the amazing mountain peak of Annapurna South. This mesmerizing view takes out all the tiredness. Ulleri is one of the milestones for trekkers on the first day of their trek. Resting at Ulleri would be the best idea for the trekkers. Trekkers will get all kinds of facilities over there.
Day 4: Trek to Ghorepani from Ulleri
An amazing sunrise over the top of Annapurna South along with a cup of tea makes your day a pleasure. After having breakfast, the day 4 trek starts. For day 4 your final destination is Ghorepani. Within a 5-6 hour walk, trekkers can easily reach Ghorepani. On the way to Ghorepani small part of Machhapuchre is visible.
After the walk for a couple of hours, a beautiful stream with crystal clear water can be seen on the way.
The water makes you swim for a while and love to spend some time for a while. After crossing this stream and walking for an hour you can explore the beautiful Rhododendron forest on the way. There is a lot of hotel on the way where you can enjoy your lunch.
After crossing the dense Rhododendron forest which takes around 1.5 hrs you will reach the Lower Ghorepani.
Note: There is a check post at the main gate before entering the Ghorepani, where you have to do entry there. After a 5 min walk from lower Ghorepani, you will reach Upper Ghorepani. And for that day Ghorepani will be your resting destination. The amazing panoramic view can be encountered from there. Beautiful human settlement over there makes you feel like you are in another nation.
Day 5: Hike to Poonhill and trek to Tadapani
Day 5 is the most important day, i.e. you are heading towards the Poonhill early in the morning. Normally it takes around a 1.5-hour walk from Ghorepani to Poonhill. So you have to reach there before sunrise. This means around 4:20 AM in the morning would be the best time to hike to Poonhill.
The Sunrise of Poonhill is really fascinating for visitors. To be frank real experiences are better than these images.
One can have a great and amazing view of the Massif Annapurna Ranges and the mountain peaks like Machhapuchre, Dhampus Peak, Gangapurna, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri I-IV, Himchuli, and many others.
After having the view of the sunrise, trek down to the Ghorepani for breakfast with the great Himalayas views.
The breakfast with the mountains is a great feeling and the biggest achievement of anyone’s life. After having breakfast the next destination for that day would be Tadapani. Walking through the amazing Rhododendron forest makes your journey more interesting. The beautiful landscape was used to welcome visitors throughout the route.
For the perfect photographer, there would be lots of opportunities to have amazing pictures and collect beautiful memories. Birds singing their songs in the jungle and the atmosphere there makes you think that heaven should be like this. There are lots of hotels around Banthanti where you can have a rest and lunch.
After crossing Banthanti, within a 1-hour trek, you will reach the next stop i.e. Tadapani. Which is the final destination of day 5.
Day 6: Trek back to Ghandruk from Tadapani
The beautiful village of Tadapani makes your morning very beautiful. A small village with a rich panoramic view from where Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Fishtail(Machhapuchre), and many other peaks are clearly seen. One can have the best breakfast with the mountain view there.
On that day only within 2-3 hours, one can reach the Ghandruk. By crossing a small stream and the waterfall trekkers will reach the beautiful village of Ghandruk. The trekkers will have great experiences while trekking in this region.
After reaching the Ghandruk village, trekkers will have enough time to explore the village. The museum over Ghandruk will show the visitors a documentary about the development of the Annapurna Region Trekking Route. And also the plans and missions of them. On that day the final destination is Ghandruk itself, so you can have the best rest with good services and facilities.
Day 7: Trek back to Birethanti and drive to Pokhara.
Panoramic views will be waiting for you in the morning at Ghandruk. After having breakfast at Ghandruk, trek back to Birethanti, from where the trek started and where there is a check post. It will take around 2-3 hours to reach Sauli, from where you can catch the local bus as well as you can walk along the road. If you walk for 45min then you can easily reach Birethanti. In this way, after the drive for around 2 hours, you will reach Pokhara. As you can have a spa in Pokhara which is really relaxing. Also can have Sandhya Arati at the bank of Phewa Lake. The vibes of Arati there will freshen your mind and the music tune will be amazing over there. The mesmerizing view of Phewa Lake also fascinates the visitors.
If you want to travel and tour around Pokhara then 1 day extra is needed for visiting the major destination around Pokhara.
Day 8: Back to Kathmandu from Pokhara
If you are planning to return to Kathmandu by road then you have to take a tourist bus early in the morning after having breakfast. But if you want to return by flight then only after having lunch you can check out the hotel. Normally a daytime flight will be good to return to Kathmandu from Pokhara.
By coming through the roadway you can get the experience of Nepal’s highway and enjoy the bumpy road over here. The tourist bus’s last station will be at Balaju, where you can catch a taxi to reach your hotel for your stay.
