Lumbini National Festival

After four years, Siddharth Industry and Commerce Association organized the ‘Lumbini National Festival 2079’ in Bhairahawa. Which is from 23rd November to 4th December.

It is said that the market of indigenous and quality goods and services will be promoted in the eighth festival. With the main slogan of ‘Tourism, Agriculture and Industry, Basis of National Prosperity.

In addition, it was stated in the press conference held on Friday. That the festival has prioritized the market promotion of locally produced domestic and handicraft materials by making consumers aware of domestic materials.

Bhishma Neupane, President of Siddhartha Udyog Commerce Association, said that although the country is going through an economic recession. The festival has been organized to keep the market running to some extent. “Through the festival, the purpose of the festival is to collect the small capital scattered at the local level. And bring it to the market to reduce the problem of financial liquidity,” Neupane said.

According to him, it is estimated that about 250,000 spectators will watch this festival, which is organized in cooperation and coordination with various municipalities of Rupandehi, and it is estimated that there will be a business worth 10 million rupees during the festival period. It is said that there will be 250 stalls at the festival.

Chairman Neupane said that it is believed that such a festival to be organized in Bhairahawa will increase the arrival of domestic and foreign tourists. As there will also be participation from bordering Indian cities. And also tourism promotion and economic activity will be active.

Similarly, “During the festival, special packages have been arranged to visit Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautama Buddha, Tilaurakot in Kapilbastu, and other archaeological sites related to Buddha and Ramgram in Nawalparasi,” Neupane said. “This will help in the development and promotion of the tourism sector.”
